Most Famous Tourist Attraction - Yosemite National

Cliffs Anyone seeking overseas adventure travel in the Yosemite National Park needs only to head for El Capitan. This 3,000 foot high wall of granite is a favourite with rock climbers as there are dozens of climbing routes to the top, none of them easy. Half Dome is the park's best known rock sight. It looks like a hemisphere with a sheer cliff on one side. But from another vantage point, the rounded part also has sheer walls. Climbers can pull themselves along the Dome by means of metal cables attached to the rock. Mount Lyell, near the southeast boundary of the park, is Yosemite's highest mountain. It is also home to the Lyell Glacier, the park's largest glacier. Both phenomena are named after the 19th century British geologist, Charles Lyell. Granite mountains surround the Yosemite Valley, which is over a mile deep and has been carved out by the Merced river. The Glacier Point viewing platform, which stands at over 7,000 feet at the southern edge of the park, gi...

Honeymoon Destinations That Won’t Break the Bank

Planning a wedding is one of the most stressful things a young couple can go through: thankfully you get to have a lovely holiday at the end of it. The honeymoon can sometimes be as extravagant as the big day itself, but with your purse strings already being tightened,  wouldn't  it make more sense to look for a holiday that’s a little less expensive? I’m not suggesting compromising on quality: but some of the best holiday destinations can be found closer to home, avoiding expensive long haul flights and bizarre exchange rates. Search for all inclusive deals to get an even better bargain. Sardinia West of Italy and South of Corsica, the island of Sardinia has been a favourite destination of celebrities for years. The Costa Smeralda on the North of the island is famed worldwide for long stretches of white sandy beaches, luxury resorts and Michelin star restaurants: perfect for those who want the Caribbean island experience without the massive cost. ...

Deciding on a Holiday Hotspot and taking Advantage of Car Hire Discount

All the sunshine this week has really got me in the mood for a holiday. It’s all very well enjoying a sunny spell in the UK, but knowing how long these English heat waves last, I’m hoping that booking a holiday ASAP will make sure the summery feeling continues long after the clouds return to our shores! There’s only one thing stopping me booking the trip though – deciding where to go! Do I want to carry on the heat wave and head to sun-soaked beaches in Greece or Turkey for a spot of relaxation?  Or are fun-filled weekend city breaks in Paris or Berlin more what I’m after this time?   Then again, there’s always the adventure packed holiday-of-a-lifetime in places like South America or Australia to add to the consideration pile… Wherever I decide, I’ll definitely be taking advantage of the Holiday Autos 25th Anniversary wrap-up sale on Monday 28th May. Topping off the 25th anniversary sale that has run throughout May, they’re offering £25 off car rental in any location, and...

Why We Should Avoid Too Much Rice!

The human body was never meant to consume rice! You see, our genes have hardly changed in more than 30,000 years. However, our food choices and lifestyle have changed dramatically. The caveman would hardly recognize our food or way of life. Caveman food was never cooked as fire was not yet tamed. Thus, he ate only those foods that he can eat without treatment with or by fire. He ate fruits, vegetables, fish, eggs, nuts and meat. Yes, even meat. You can even eat meat raw if you were starving in the forest. You have the necessary enzymes to digest meat. However, rice - like wheat and corn - cannot be eaten raw. It must be cooked. Even if you were starving in the desert, you cannot eat rice in the raw form. This is because we do not have the system of enzymes to break rice down. We were never meant to eat rice. To make matters worse, we not only eat rice, but also make it the bulk of our food. In some parts of Asia, rice forms up to 85% of the plate. Even if we take rice, let...
