No more VISA needed to enter Japan!

Yes that is right, according to World Bulletin, Japan has lifted visa requirements for a number of ASEAN countries to help spur the nation's tourism industry and to develop the relationships with Southeast Asian countries.  According to Foreign Ministry’s pronouncement, visa exemption will be effective for Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Viet Nam after July, 1. Japan’s move to nationalize disputed islands at the East China Sea drew a harsh critic from Chinese’s officials and triggered a boycott from Chinese’s consumers and tourists. With no end in sight to the dispute, the Japanese government turned its eye to ...

Two Exotic Asian Tourist Destinations You Are Going To Love

For any European or American, far away continents will always represent a mysterious attraction, a place one will always dream to visit. And if life gives you the chance to visit Asia, and you are also a person looking for Asian landmarks, make sure to include the following two destinations on your itinerary. by  Bjørn Christian Tørrissen 1. Angkor is considered to be the most fascinating archaeological site in Asia. Around the ruins of the Khmer Empire, capital authorities have created an entire archaeological park where tourists are able to get in contact with the Asian culture from the 9th to the 15th century. The masterpiece and the point that attracts most of the tourists is the worldwide known Temple of Angkor Wat. The site has such an important cultural and historical significance that UNESCO has developed many programs, in order to preserve and secure it. The Archaeological Park, which covers 400 square kilometers / 155 square miles, offers the tourists the possibi...

5 Things You Should Know About Traveling Through Japan by Car

Car travel in Japan can be a pretty harrowing experience if you're not quite ready for it. There's a completely different car culture in Japan, and as a foreign driver, trying to navigate the roads for the first time can come as something of a pretty stressful shock. There are a ton of new rules, customs, and mores to internalize, and it can be a little overwhelming when you're just trying to have a vacation, see some sights, and get from point A to point B. Thankfully, getting around in a place like Japan doesn't have to be as complicated as it might seem at times, and we're going to talk about a few really easy strategies that can help you make sense of a confusing and different way of driving. 1. Pay Cash for Gas. One of the hugest "yen traps," as it were, is the gas pump. There are a ton of ways that the unsuspecting tourist can wind up spending a lot more money than is necessary on the petrol you're going to need just to get where you'...

Phuket Holiday-Awesome Thai Adventures

Phuket has been on our radar for sometime as a popular holiday destination and we have been monitoring it for some time. When we finally made it to the Island, we found that it was better than we ever imagined. The island province offers a wealth of exhilarating activities custom designed with the tourist or visitor in mind. While having some good money is a plus, this is one of the few places across the face of the earth that allows you a lot at no money or very little if any. If you are looking for a place to be yourself, then you will find Phuket as the place to be. For us, both my wife and I, we found it as the excellent place worth basing our day-trips into the huge number of dive spots surrounding the Island. Also, if you would like to depart to some of the many liveaboard types of dive trips, Phuket is the place to be. We used it to depart to fabulous visits to Mergui Archipelago and Simmillan Islands. While there are a number of Padi 5-star dive operators in Patong with their...

Top 10 Foods to Try in South Korea

Kimbap   Some rights reserved  by  gamene If you find yourself lucky enough to travel to South Korea, the next challenge is to try as many of the dishes as possible. With limited time and only so much your stomach can handle, it can be difficult to pinpoint exactly which dishes to eat. It’s hard to narrow down the list to a few items, but the following are the top 10 Korean dishes that must be tried while in South Korea: 1. Kimchi When it comes to Korean cuisine, the first thing that comes to mind is kimchi. This fermented dish is made of napa cabbage, radish, and other vegetables, along with a variety of seasonings. A common sight at Korean tables, kimchi is both eaten on its own and combined with a variety of other dishes. 2. Ddeokbokki (Spicy Rice Cake)  This dish is most commonly seen in street vendors around South Korea, and is made from cooking rice cakes in a spicy sauce. A variety of other ingredients can also be added to this dish, ranging fr...

Exploring the Treasures of Myanmar

Traveling Myanmar is unlike traveling anywhere else in Southeast Asia. Other parts of Southeast Asia are mostly free countries. Sure, there may be some censorship or political corruption, but by and large people live their own lives. Step foot in Myanmar however and you’re now in a world of military leadership and censorship. Don’t be afraid however. The areas that tourists frequent are very safe. It’s a great way to experience a part of the world that often makes the news, without being in any real danger. Locals will be hesitant to discuss anything political out in the open, but are often more than willing to share behind closed doors. When in Myanmar, be careful of going too far off the beaten path. If you veer far off from tourist areas, it’s not unusual for plain clothes police to ask you to go back. Much of the country is still shrouded in shadows. If you want to experience some real world politics, rather than just the tourist catered nature of Southeast Asia, go to Mya...

Best Shopping Destinations in Asia and Where to Stay

When it comes to shopping, nowhere in the world does it quite like Asia. Whether you’re looking for cute little gadgets, fun toys, trinkets, cheap designer clothes or high end electronics, Asia has it all. Shopping in Asia is very different than shopping in the western world and is definitely not an experience to be missed. When shopping in Asia, remember to negotiate. Prices are almost never what they seem, especially in street markets. It’s not uncommon to be able to get the price down by 20% to 50%. With that said, here are some of the best places in Asia to do your shopping. Bangkok, Thailand If you’re looking for creative and unique clothing, look no further than Bangkok. Funny T-Shirts go for as little as $3, DVDs can be purchased for $2 and you can get all kinds of jewelry and clothing everywhere you look. For the tourist experience, hit up Khao San Road, the central tourism hub. For a bit more of the local shopping

Why Malaysia Is the Next Big Thing for British Tourists?

Malaysia, nestled in a corner of South East Asia which is almost over crowded with tourist hotspots has long fallen by the wayside compared to massively popular destinations like Thailand and Vietnam, but after a big push to capture holiday maker’s dollars, the country which is spread generously over a Peninsula and an island is fast becoming a popular holiday choice for Brits looking for a heady mix of gorgeous beaches, warm temperatures, fascinating culture and delicious food. source Success doesn’t happen overnight, and Malaysia, being a long-haul destination for the UK will probably never achieve the rabid popularity surrounding much closer, more culturally similar destinations like Spain or Greece, but there are shifts going on in the travel market that have lead to the country’s fairly rapid ascension in popularity. Here are some of the reasons why Malaysia is becoming an a prime getaway for Brits; Global Events Hosting global events, no matter what the subjec...

6 Bizarre Foods in Asia

Asia; home to fascinating culture, centuries old history and some downright bizarre foods! A wander through any market, side street or local butchers practically anywhere in Asia soon throws up an intriguing assortment of dishes ready to be sampled. Question is, how brave are you? Read on to whet your appetite. Durian; you’ll smell it long before you set eyes on it! It’s described as smelling akin to rotting flesh but don’t let that put you off, everyone should try it at least once in their life. The durian fruit is large, about the size and shape of a rugby ball with sharp spiky skin. Street side market sellers prepare and sell it across Southeast Asia, especially in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. Don’t expect to find it on your hotel menu (or try to take one in to your hotel) as it’s forbidden. And for a neat (if slightly mean trick) take some durians sweets home with you for your kids or colleagues!                      ...
