We all have moments in our lives when we want to get away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday routine, getaway and rest. This is especially the case if we are in a relationship because sometimes our schedules can hinder us from spending quite as much quality time as we would like.
If you've been thinking about planning a romantic weekend getaway for you and your significant other, but you're not sure how to plan it in a way that will be easy on your mind and wallet, we have five tips that will help you to accomplish your feat; ones that will have your partner full of hugs and kisses for you long after the weekend is over.
Select a mutually romantic venue. You may like to fish and so going camping near a lake may be your idea of "romance" while your partner may define it as staying in a four-star hotel. If you're planning the trip together, select a spot where both of you will get into the amorous mood. If it's going to be a surprise, focus more on what they would want to do. If they enjoy where they are, you are bound to reap the benefits which will make the venue a win-win no matter what.
Travel differently. One thing about a getaway trip is that you're taking the time to remove yourself from all that is familiar (other than one another, of course). So, if you are going on a road trip, consider renting a car (perhaps even a fantasy luxury vehicle). If you are going to fly, maybe rent a car service to pick the both of you up from the airport.
Purchase some new "sleepwear". Although it can be pretty romantic to spontaneously pack someone else's weekend bag, it's not always the most practical thing to do. But, what you can do is purchase some special lingerie (or a pair of silk boxers) and put it in their bag along with a card expressing how much you can't wait
for the weekend to get started.
Don't forget to decorate (ahead of time). Say that you're planning a weekend getaway to Illinois. How would your significant other feel if they walked into a room filled with roses, candles and champagne? Whether it's a hotel, cabin or bed and breakfast, most places are more than willing to accommodate you by decorating the room before you arrive (for a small additional fee). Either they will already have the items on site or they will assist you with connecting with a florist or caterer in their area so that you can have the "romance things" that you desire delivered.
Have a night of dress-up. Even if you do have cuddling up close in bed on the agenda for most of the weekend, it can still be a really sweet gesture to have one actual date while you're away. Make sure to book a reservation at one of the nicer restaurants in the area so that "you and yours" can dress up in your best and paint the town red (the color of love).
