If you are a frequent or avid traveler, then you probably already know the definition of “traveling in style.” One thing is, traveling in style is much harder than it may seem at first. For one thing, “in style” usually denotes a need to spend a ton of money, which is not really the case, but it is tough to travel in style on a tight budget- that’s for sure. But, there are plenty of things you can do to combat that.
One strange thing you may notice when you travel to different countries, is that every country has its own style and fashions. Some countries are far beyond the curb of fashion, and then some other countries are decades behind in their fashion sensibilities. This becomes a perplexing problem because, the last thing any traveler wants to do is stand out in the crowd and just look like a tourist. People want to always look cool and fashionable, and that is also a piece of the “travel in style” puzzle. So, there are many thing to consider, but fear not, traveling in style is not as difficult as it sounds, and in fact can be quite easy and practical. Here are some suggestions:
Fashionable travel tip #1. Pack in Layers
One common mistake that some travelers tend to make is that they pack too lightly, and thus are forced to wear the same clothes over and over again while traveling abroad. It is true that you can always just buy more clothes when you get to the destination country or location, but that is not always such a good idea, as you may have no idea of
where to go and how much the clothes will cost. So, the trick is to pack in layers: bring a little bit of everything (a jacket, a sweater, some shirts with various sleeve lengths, pants, shorts, a hat, gloves, etc.) Of course, this also depends on what season it is, but sometimes foreign weather can be just as unpredictable as the fashion.
Fashionable travel tip #2. Always go travel size
When packing toiletries, always go with the travel size. This is because it will save you room in your luggage, and it is called travel size for a reason, after all. Toiletries are always reasonably easy to find in foreign countries in case you ever lose or run out of anything.
Fashionable travel tip #3. Always go comfort
Comfort is key when traveling, so try not to pack clothing items that are not comfortable (i.e. high heels, boots, etc.) You want to look good, but sometimes it is just not worth it- and traveling is one of those circumstances.
Fashionable travel tip #4. Always try your best to fit in
This is easier said than done, but when traveling you will find you have the best time when you are not being treated as a tourist.
